The Challenge
Ahead of its August 2025 bond proposal vote, the district needed a clean, accessible web presence to inform the community and answer key questions about the proposed improvements. Its existing materials included legal and technical documentation that was difficult for the average resident to understand, and the district needed a digital experience that built trust and encouraged informed engagement.
What I Did
Designed and built a dedicated bond landing page within the district’s existing CMS (Finalsite) using an accessible, mobile-first approach. Organized content into clear sections covering the proposal overview, project breakdown, financial impact, tax calculator, timeline, and FAQs. Used collapsible menus and accessible layouts to ensure a clean user experience across all devices. Translated legal and technical documentation into plain-language summaries to improve community understanding. Ensured full WCAG and ADA compliance through semantic markup, logical heading structure, and screen reader testing.
The Outcome
The district had a single, trustworthy digital destination where community members could get clear, accessible information ahead of a critical vote. Plain-language summaries replaced dense legal documents, lowering the barrier for residents to understand what they were voting on and why it mattered.
