Client: American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
Project Type: Multi-site management, CMS migration, accessibility remediation, analytics cleanup, custom conference platform
AHIMA brought me on to manage their entire digital ecosystem — including eight known websites, plus three they didn’t realize existed until I audited their assets. The sites were outdated, inaccessible, mobile-unfriendly, and largely disconnected. Their Google Analytics and Tag Manager accounts were misconfigured and cluttered, with duplicate properties and broken tracking.
I began with a full audit, identifying all active sites, assessing usability, and evaluating content performance. From there, I migrated select sites from WordPress and Sitecore into Umbraco to streamline platform management. I implemented accessibility fixes, restructured navigation, and improved SEO across multiple domains.
I also built a custom website and event app for AHIMA’s annual conference (2022 and 2023) using Cadmium, extending platform capabilities beyond standard modules and training internal teams for future use. Additionally, I resolved analytics chaos by reconfiguring GA and GTM, enabling reliable reporting and dashboard tracking in both GA and HubSpot. I trained the marketing ops team to manage updates going forward confidently.
Although a full redesign of AHIMA.org was planned during my time there, internal delays pushed the project past my tenure. However, I successfully led redesigns of key properties, including bok.ahima.org, international.ahima.org, hipweek.ahima.org, and the conference microsite, significantly improving user experience and accessibility.
To ensure a smooth handoff, I created thorough SOPs and documentation so the next website manager could seamlessly pick up where I left off, positioning the AHIMA.org redesign for successful execution after my departure.
